2007 Musical Reviews

What parents said about the
2007 Musical:
This is
a new summer theater program. The play is the end result of a two
week camp, and I can't say enough good things about it. My kids did
another summer theater program a few years ago, and our experience
this year with Cindy has been 100% better. The kids are active and
engaged ~ there is fun and games in addition to the play work. And
the kids are learning about voice, projection, blocking, costuming ~
etc. In addition, they are also learning about the subject matter
of the play ~ economics. (Rachael is now telling me what is a "need"
and what is a "want.") --Mary
Moore
What a joy to watch the kids perform what they'd learned in just two
weeks. Cindy Baney is an amazing woman. My girls had a fantastic
time! All the while learning about economics, bringing together a
show with a valuable message and learning to perform in front of an
audience. All lessons they will carry throughout their lives. They
were so busy having fun they didn't even realize how much they'd
learned. We can't wait until next year. We'll be first in line to
sign up. --Cindy Seidensticker
What professionals are
saying about this director or the musicals . . .
"The Three Little Pigs is a wonderfully creative and entertaining
performance,
which also provides a unique and motivating way to learn economics and
social
studies standards."

"There is no
doubt that economics plays an important role in shaping the future of
our children. It is true that teaching math and English is necessary at
the
Elementary schools, but how meaningful would they be when these kids
grow up
not having the necessary skills to find jobs. It surprises me that some
teachers
and administrators believe there is no more room for "new" curriculum,
meaning
economics, at their schools. Some even argue that it is too difficult to
intigrate
economics into their existing curricula. If they were to see the ways
Cindy Baney integrates economics into her (musicals), I promise you they would change their minds and hearts once
and for all. An eye opening
experience for me to observe how successfully Ms. Baney accomplished
this
task. Again, another great program . . ."

"Three Little
Pigs was a joy to direct. We had 84 children in our production and the
show was able to accommodate all of them. All the children had a
marvelous time and learned about money matters at the same time!"
